For a better future: Sustainability education

The world is changing. Our ecosystems have experienced the effects of climate change, and humankind must take steps to ensure long-term sustainability to produce food while establishing an ecological balance to protect soil fertility and avoid pest problems.

Sustainability education is necessary to teach younger generations that we must take care of our available resources on this planet. They need to know that respecting our environment and the creatures and plants that inhabit it is key to our survival as species.

Organic food is indeed more expensive, but this type of agriculture focuses on protecting natural resources while continuing to enrich the soil, taking care of the water, reducing the use of agrochemicals that require fossil fuels in their manufacture, and reducing erosion.

Organic agriculture also seeks to avoid using pesticides to allow agrobiodiversity and the arrival of new species or the recolonization of previous ones.

Organic agriculture doesn’t allow the use of genetically modified organisms. The organic label guarantees that no GMOs were intentionally used in the production and processing of these products.

The impact of organic agriculture on natural resources encourages interaction with the agroecosystem. When a consumer chooses to acquire organic products contributes to getting a less polluting agricultural system.

Every action we take as species contributes to the environment and preserves the world’s resources for future generations.

Best Grounds International has a non-profit organization called BioTu, an organization based in Mexico dedicated to educating about sustainability. This association incorporates the knowledge of indigenous populations on how to live with the benefits of the modern world while respecting nature.
The association has an interesting project to promote the reproduction of butterflies and pollinators in Jalisco. Insects in the region promote the health of the flora of Chapala Lake. The objective is to become ambassadors of sustainability.

These educational efforts encourage students to keep gardens at their homes with the right type of plants to encourage the development of butterflies and pollinators.
Best Grounds International is deeply committed to the conservation of species and environmental education, which is important to ensure our survival as species, taking care of the available resources, and making efforts to preserve other species.
